Andrea Mazzola

Andrea Mazzola was born in Milan in 198O, currently lives and works in Berlin. He presented his work in solo and group exhibitions at public institutions, spaces and private galleries.

Mazzola’s paintings can be read as fragments of narratives though which he continues to explore the dynamics of Nature in the contemporary world and the conditions of reality’s perception. His paintings shift between intimate and universal sphere, structures and their content, connecting chaos and order. Sometimes Mazzola shows surreal atmospheres, but he does not conceive of a world that does not exist. The characters, the scenery he paints are part of a human experience, sometimes visible, sometimes not; that’s not why they are unreal. Layers of color are used as a means of expression to transform the sensations received from Nature, creating an apparently illusory world, where in fact each single voice is almost real and the world, as we perceive it, is perhaps only the fruit of our own personal interpretation.
